Call for Workshop Proposals

The QCNC 2024 conference will be held in Kanazawa, Japan on July 1-3, 2024. In addition to the main conference technical program, the conference will include a set of workshops held on July 1, 2024.

The ideal workshop proposal will focus on a timely and emerging topic and be able to attract a number of interesting and high-quality contributions that spark discussions in an informal setting. The goal of the workshop papers is primarily to stimulate interactive conversations and inspire new research ideas. Proposals on emerging or disruptive topics that are likely to generate significant interest in the community will be selected. Topics should be grounded and clearly relate to the QCNC community, and its core areas of interest (e.g., quantum communications, networking, and computing). While we expect that workshop papers would be less mature than a typical QCNC conference paper, they should present particularly novel ideas and approaches, which have the potential to make their way to full conference papers in future editions. Therefore, we expect that workshops will run a rigorous review process, to make sure programs will be of high quality. We will interact with the chairs of the selected workshops after the review phase, to discuss with them about a suitable acceptance rate and format of the workshop, based on the set of submitted and accepted papers. We seek proposals from individuals and teams interested in organizing strong workshops. Ideally, each workshop will be a full day or half day depending on the paper submission status. The dates for paper submission, notification, camera-ready version, and session times will be coordinated across the selected workshops. All workshop papers will be submitted for inclusion to IEEE Xplore as well as various Abstracting and Indexing databases.

Workshop Proposal Submission Instructions

The proposal should be no longer than three pages and should include at least the following:

• Title of the workshop
• The name, address, and a short bio (up to 200 words) of each organizer
• A motivation and rationale that includes a brief description of the technical issues to be addressed, why those issues are timely and important, why the workshop may attract a significant number of submissions of good quality, and why the workshop differs from others; i.e., related workshops and conferences of similar topic
• The list of names and affiliations of potential program committee members
• The planned format of the workshop, including a strategy to facilitate lively discussions and attendee involvement
• Expected number of submissions and participants
• A description of the publicity plan
• Workshop tentative internal and external schedule (expect adjustments by the workshop chairs to align all workshop schedules)

SUBMISSIONS

Please send a whole copy of your proposal in PDF (only) format to the workshop co-chairs: Trung Q. Duong and Mu Zhou. Ensure that proposals contain "Submission of QCNC 2024 workshop proposal: XXX", where XXX should be replaced by the short name of your workshop. Submissions must be received by the deadline below.
